How often do we hear of vehicles being stolen whilst the driver has been away from the vehicle for whatever reason?

The Bellan ‘IOU’ provides an innovative and effective way for today’s service providers to manage the competing demands of battery management and vehicle security. Ever complicated vehicle spec even operational demands can quickly flatten vehicles’ batteries meaning that often the only alternative to a flat battery is to leave the engine running leaving both the operator and the vehicle vulnerable to the opportunist thief.

Whilst the driver is away from the cab area loading or unloading, opportunist thieves have the ideal window of opportunity to enter the cab area and steal either the vehicle itself or the contents of the vehicle. Deliveries, repairs, collections and roadside engineering can now all be completed with the engine left ticking over without any risk of your vehicle(s) being stolen or its operation compromised.

Unlike mainstream ‘run-lock’ systems that use ‘dumb relays’ the Bellan ‘IOU’ is unique because it is software engineered enabling a host of additional features to be provided reliably, efficiently and economically including Crank Protection, Engine overheat protection, Beacon Bar theft protection, Electronic interface to allow idling times to be recorded and analysed, Electronic outputs to interface with telemetry equipment, Optional 120decibell alarm.

Used by the AA & RAC across the UK the Bellan ‘IOU’ enables vehicles to ‘tick over’ in complete safety without having to leave the keys in the ignition, safeguarding vehicle, driver and consignment against unauthorised use and drive-offs providing an innovative and cost effective way for today’s service providers to manage the competing demands of battery management and vehicle security.

Air Braked Vehicles.

If a thief brakes into the cab, with the intention of stealing the vehicle, whilst the driver is unloading the vehicle, the IOU will prevent the vehicle from being driven away. However on hearing the alarm the thief will not necessarily re-apply the handbrake. To prevent the vehicle from rolling away in this situation a ‘Park Brake Lock’ valve is fitted. This is controlled by the IOU and will prevent the brakes from being released whilst the ignition override unit is active.

The Options.

Available in both 12volt and 24volt, with or without 120db alarm, park brake lock for 24volt vehicles.
