The MOAL : The Mother of all Locks
|
To make the lock less cumbersome to use, the body of the lock has been designed as two interlocking sections: a "return" and a "keep". The "return", housing the lock mechanism, fits over a ridged "keep" that prevents the doors, when shut, from being prised open. Benefits
To further protect the mechanism from tampering and particle ingress, the locking mechanism has been aligned parallel to the line of the vehicle. A further "eureka" re-orientation of the mechanism allows sliding side doors to have the lock mechanism facing the rear of the vehicle, for added protection against particle ingress whilst the van is being driven. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Externally mounted "limpet" style locks are traditionally bulky, cumbersome and, being made of steel, very heavy, which over a period of time can distort the hinges of the door to which they are attached, eventually causing the door to drop.
